The World Is Watching: Frontlines of Cycling Innovation! On-site Report from TAIPEI CYCLE 2025 (Part 2)

TAIPEI CYCLE 2025, one of Asia’s largest bicycle exhibitions, was held in March 2025. After Kenta finished exploring Hall 1 (see the first part of the report [here]), he headed across the street to Hall 2. This hall was packed with E-Bike-related products, featuring cutting-edge technologies and trending brands. In this second part of the report, Kenta picks out the highlights of Hall 2 from his unique perspective.

Hall 2 was just as lively and crowded as Hall 1.

Not just E-Bikes themselves, but motor and battery manufacturers, as well as E-Cycling accessories, were widely represented—clearly showcasing the booming growth of the E-Bike market.

A booth that truly symbolized this year’s theme, “Ride the Revolution,” was from Acer, well known for its computers. In recent years, the company has been expanding into mobility, presenting E-scooters and smart bikes infused with IT technologies—an unexpected but exciting move.

This is the much-talked-about smart E-Bike “ebii.” Its futuristic design and features stand out. Equipped with AI, it learns the rider’s pedaling habits and fitness level to automatically adjust the level of assistance. The more you ride, the more personalized the experience becomes.

With features like obstacle detection, anti-theft, and smartphone integration, it’s a gadget-lover’s dream. Lightweight and stylish, it’s ideal for commuting and city cruising—truly a serious E-Bike built by an IT company.

Its smartphone app integration is robust—letting you check battery life, speed, and distance, as well as switch modes and control lights. GPS-enabled anti-theft features add peace of mind. Smart, fun, and safe—this next-gen E-Bike makes city rides more comfortable.

Next, Kenta visited LITZMO, a brand based in Taichung, Taiwan, known for its lightweight carbon-frame E-Bikes that combine sleek design with practical features.

The standout “EM-05” features a full carbon frame and ultra-lightweight design. It connects to an app to manage ride data and settings—perfect for daily use. Its clean form makes it a definite eye-catcher in the city.

Another bike that caught Kenta’s eye was the “ER-01.” With chunky tires and a rugged frame, it may look tough, but it offers a smooth and easy ride—reliable both for city commuting and outdoor adventures.

Next, Kenta stopped by the KiLEY booth, which exuded a classic atmosphere. This Taiwanese brand takes its name from the Japanese word “kirei” (beautiful), reflecting its focus on elegant design.

KiLEY’s lights feature a classic look with premium craftsmanship. They pair especially well with vintage-style bikes like the Brompton, elevating your ride’s style to the next level.

Despite their vintage appearance, the lights on display were bright and highly functional—ideal for Brompton riders. Kenta found himself captivated by the attention to detail.

Drawn by the crowd in front of the booth, Kenta stopped by Gyroor, a brand from Shenzhen, China, known for electric scooters and hoverboards.

The highlight was the award-winning “S300 Hovershoes,” which took home a TAIPEI CYCLE d&i Award. These independently powered hover skates offer a futuristic appearance and a unique core-strength riding experience.

Kenta gave them a try! At first he was hesitant, as it was his first time, but soon got the hang of it and glided smoothly. A new kind of ride that really works your core.

Another standout was the smart intercom helmet from RILAX. With Bluetooth communication range up to 2km, it makes group rides more convenient. Music and navigation audio come through clearly from the built-in speakers, and its aerodynamic design is a big plus.

It’s lightweight and sleek in appearance. When Kenta and Tsucchi tried it out, the audio was clear and conversations flowed smoothly—perfect for small-group rides or touring with friends.

MOTINOVA, based in Hong Kong, develops drive units for E-Bikes. Leveraging its high-performance motor tech, it provides solutions across various E-Bike sectors. Their booth drew attention with an E-Bike developed for military use.

It wasn’t just about looks—it had real functionality. Designed with performance in mind, it features dual motors (front and rear wheel drive) tuned for strong initial torque. And incredibly, it even has hooks for mounting machine guns and ammunition—truly “combat ready.”

Kenta was visibly excited—this was the first time he’d seen such a serious (or rather, real?) military-style E-Bike. One reason E-Bikes are attracting military attention is their light weight and quiet operation—ideal for stealthy tactical movement.

At the center of the venue was the “E-Cycling Area – WinzU,” offering virtual cycling experiences. Riders could enjoy real-time races in a simulated Taiwanese landscape—and this time, Kenta had the chance to try a special course set in Odaiba, Tokyo.

The monitor displayed a realistic cityscape with live-action footage overlaid by avatars—creating an immersive riding experience. With fans on either side to simulate wind, it provided a comfortable and lifelike training environment.

The “Bone Collection” booth featured products that combine design and functionality. Using eco-friendly silicone, they offer a range of unique and practical items—like phone accessories, bike mounts, and cable holders—all with charming character designs and solid usability.

In the back of the booth, Kenta found adorable animal-shaped silicone items that can be used as tube caps for bikes. They’re not only cute but also functional.

Kenta was drawn to their playful designs and couldn’t help but take a closer look. They’re perfect for riders who want to add a touch of personality to their bikes.

Toward the back of the venue was the “BIKE DEMO” area, where visitors could test-ride the latest models they’d seen at booths. This hands-on opportunity to feel the ride and controls made it a popular spot.

The LITZMO “ER-01” with its bold pink fat tires was particularly eye-catching.

Though it looks rugged and tough, the bike delivers a surprisingly smooth and stable ride. Its powerful yet easy handling makes it much more than just a flashy design—Kenta couldn’t help but smile.

Kenta didn’t just try bikes—he also tested a cutting-edge electric scooter! The model was Acer’s “Predator Thunder Pro,” which boasts a top speed of 40 km/h and a powerful 1200W motor capable of handling steep inclines up to 35%.

Equipped with disc brakes on both wheels for solid stopping power, and front and rear suspension for smooth handling over bumps—it offers a stable and comfortable ride.

Lastly, Kenta test-rode a three-wheeled E-cargo bike from Taiwanese motor developer REXON.

While the stable motor is impressive, the real innovation lies in the front cargo area’s “H.S. structure.” Developed in response to European requests, this balancing system keeps the cargo box level even when the bike tilts. It remains stable during turns and locks firmly when parked—reflecting the advanced, family-friendly design sensibilities of Europe, where cycling is a part of everyday life.

This year’s TAIPEI CYCLE was once again packed with highlights. One standout observation was the significant expansion of the E-Bike section compared to last year. More brands and models were present, and technological progress was palpable. The trend of integrating AI into bicycles is accelerating and may soon become the norm. Sustainability was another key theme, with many booths showcasing eco-conscious initiatives such as material selection and packaging reform.

In line with this year’s theme, “Ride the Revolution,” it was clear that the cycling world is undergoing major transformations. We can’t wait to see what kind of new “revolutions” await us next year!
